There are currently three TIE courses planned. Each course goes for four weeks. The dates for these sessions are shown below - click on each one for course-specific information and documents, as well as a photo gallery from the first TIE class:

TIE 1 - June 2004

TIE 2 - January 2005

TIE 3 - June - July 2005


All TIE participants must:
  1. Complete the TIE Application Form and send to TIE by email* six weeks before course.
  2. Receive email confirmation of acceptance to course from TIE Coordinator.
  3. Read the TIE Orientation Manual before travel to Thailand.
  4. Send signed TIE Release Form to UPAP by express surface mail, received by due date.
  5. Send signed TIE Medical Clearance to UPAP by express surface mail, received by due date.
  6. Pay the Administration fee by due date.
  7. Have airline or travel agent itinerary emailed to tiecoordinator-travel@yahoo.com
  8. Complete the TIE Workbook before travel to Thailand.
  9. Attend Orientation I session before travel to Thailand.
  10. Attend Orientation II session, first day of TIE, in Thailand.
  11. Read syllabus material before lectures.
  12. Attend all lectures and actively participate in class discussions and class work.
  13. Complete all Academic Requirements’ Learning and Performance Objectives.
  14. Complete the TIE Class Evaluation Form on last day of class.

*Each dated course has a unique email address, listed in each course curriculum.

Academic Requirements:

  1. Pre-test - Completed immediately upon acceptance to the TIE course.
  2. Class Paper - One page, completed and received by due date before travel to Thailand.
  3. Daily Journal - Upon arrival in Thailand keep a private daily journal that can be verified by TIE.
  4. Class Presentation - Give an agreed twenty-five minute presentation on last day of class.
  5. Post-test - Completed two weeks after returning home from TIE.
